Deborah Lippmann - Mermaid's Dream

:)
My first Lippmann of many to come - you get one, why not get them all?  A little sweetie bought this as a cheer up gift for me. Some people are just wayy too nice! (I see you.)

Mermaid's Dream is from the Spring 2012 collection and in my opinion one of the most unique Deborah Lippmann colors.  Ones like Across the Universe and Stairway to Heaven get me jealous, but there are similar polishes out there.  I haven't seen much like this one yet though; my silly friend got it too right.

To me, this polish looks like it started out as a seafoam chrome polish that was injected with green and gold microglitter and larger blue hex glitter (larger, not large!).  In the bottle there is a slight duochrome, but it doesn't make that much of an impact on the nail since there's so much glitter already going on.

In this last photo you can kind of see the odd texture of this polish which I assume is from the glitter density.  Since I knew it was coming, I wasn't bothered.  I put two coats of top coat just in case though.  You can still feel the divots, but it's not rough. As for the formula: there was a tiny bit of dragging, which left some barer spots I noticed in the sun.  I'm pretty sure nobody would call me out for that though, so two coats was sufficient.  Next time I'll be layering it over a light green to be safe.

Kbye!
